April

General News:

In January, we sold our store layout “Octoberfest”, so now we have to replace it. We began work in January and will continue this month as our other projects allow on our new HO layout “Otter Lake”. This is an American themed 2 rail DCC layout featuring easy-to-build design and off the shelf components. This is a layout within the skill set of most everyone and much of the work will be done by novices. Pictures and description of the construction will find its way to the website eventually. The layout needs to be finished by May 6th, which is the Augusta Railroad Club yearly train show (which we will be attending).

Although Otter Lake is a two rail design, we are not forgetting you Marklin fans: we are also rebuilding our old O scale layout to a Marklin layout with work to be undertaken as soon as Otter Lake is complete. This layout will be on display through October and then it will be delivered to its buyer. It will be replaced by yet another Marklin layout in the future.

We are also building structures for a local museum with more details to follow.

Every Friday: Friday Night Magic (FNM) will continue to be Rivals of Ixalan draft format until April 27th, which will start the Dominaria  format. The draft starts at 6:30 pm and cost $14.00. As an alternate, Rail Tales will offer to allow players to draft Masters 25 for $6 a pack (18$ plus tax total), a 40% discount. We have had numerous requests for this format but the cost was previously too high. This optional format will  be up the players to determines each Friday.

Sunday, April 8th: Rail Tales will host a Store Championship, Rivals of Ixalan event for Magic the Gathering starting at 6 pm. This is a free standard event with a prize support.
